Tiritiri Talks

Would your club, community group or company like a guest speaker to come and talk about Tiritiri Matangi?  We can provide presentations of around 30 minutes on a range of topics (see below). If you are planning a group trip to the Island, a talk is an excellent way to promote it and whet people's appetites.

Possible topics include:

  • The transformation of the Island from farm to bush: how it was planned and carried out.
  • The birds and other wildlife of Tiritiri: how they came to flourish in this open sanctuary.
  • The Island's history from Lighthouse reserve, through two World Wars, and the restoration of this historical legacy.
  • A general introduction to the Island, touching on all the above.

To arrange for a speaker, please complete the form on the Contact page, indicating the location, preferred date and time. Please give us as much notice as you can.
